Frequently Asked Questions

  • Octopodi is EdTech for post-secondary institutions. We noticed that there has been a gap in grading software for coding classes, and decided to help bridge the space between grading software and overlooked courses.
Octopodi operates on a subscription-tier model, so educators & instructors have the freedom to choose the plan that best suits their needs. Once a plan is selected, users can upload assignments into the drop box, customize grading guidelines, and proceed to run a scan. Once the scan is complete, the file’s mistakes will be flagged according to the marking guides the user sets. Now the time-consuming part is done ✔️ and you can focus on less administrative tasks!

  • No. Octopodi is designed to support instructors, not replace them. Educators remain in control of grading decisions while Octopodi helps surface patterns, identify issues, and support more consistent feedback.

  • The software does not use narrative to complete marking. You dictate the rules of the grading, and the software scans for anything that breaks the customized rules, and flags them for you. The final grade remains in the educator’s control, allowing for flexibility in grading calculations. Since different instructors have unique grading methods, Octopodi serves as a powerful grading assistant—highlighting mistakes while leaving the final judgment to the user.

  • Yes! Octopodi allows you to set your own grading guidelines, ensuring that assignments are evaluated based on your specific criteria. Before running your scans, users are prompted to customise.
